We provide consultation and supervision services, the below licensed psychotherapists and counsellors are here to help.
Amelia Perri, RN, Psychotherapist – Clinic Director
I have naturally gravitated to leadership and consultation positions since I began my career in Health Care in the late 90’s. After working as a Senior Director in Health Care, I longed to return to hands on clinical work so I started my private practice in 2007. Since then, I have grown Therapy Heals to 7 locations with over 40 therapists, and an administrative team.
I completed my Master of Counselling Psychology about 12 years ago and have had specific training in CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Brainspotting, Trauma Theory, Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples, the Gottman Method for Couples, and more. These various therapy modalities form my eclectic approach in working with clients and supervisees/consultees. I provide supervision related to work with people age 12 and up, as well as for work with couples.
People that I have consulted with and supervised have described me as easy to talk to, and appreciate my style of sharing about my own experiences, while encouraging thought and self-reflection from the supervisee/consultee.
I will provide supportive and gentle feedback and ideas to support your growth as a therapist. When we first meet we will discuss your specific needs so that our approach can be tailored to suit you. My non-judgemental stance will encourage you to share openly about your own practice, which will lend to continued learning and growth. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
Samantha Cohen, Registered Social Worker, MSW, RSW
I have always believed that supervision is a process intended to facilitate growth in both the supervisee and the supervisor. Entering into a supervision agreement, is entering into a process of learning together. I have always valued clinical supervision in my practice, and strive to promote a process where vulnerability is embraced, and growth and development is supported. People who I have consulted with and supervised in the past have described me as approachable, easy to talk to, and appreciate my own practices of self-reflection and embracing vulnerability.
I completed my Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, and have worked in the field for about 10 years. I have specific training in CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Neurbiology, Trauma Theory, the Gottman Method for Couples, Brain Injury, Child Development, Solution Focused Therapy, and more. I also regularly include Mindfulness practices in my therapeutic interventions. I have experiences working with children, youth, and their families, as well as individual therapy with adults, and Couples. I am comfortable in providing supervision for a wide array of populations and needs.
My style as a supervisor is not much different than the style I approach my therapeutic work with. I try to live and work by the values that guide my practice. I promote a space where supervision can be used to explore what the supervisee finds most useful and relevant to their work. I will spend time working with the supervisee to determine what their hopes are for the process, and how I can be most supportive. Building a relationship where trust and the safety/security to explore challenges in a non-judgemental space is one of my first priorities. I hope that you will find supervision a space to explore your individual experiences of practicing vulnerability, your strengths as a therapist and how those can be used in your clinical practices, as well as explore any stuck points in the work you are doing.
Priyan Ramanihar, Registered Psychotherapist, B.Sc, MA (Psych)
I believe that the foundation of effective clinical supervision is a relationship of trust and emotional safety. If we are wary of judgement, how can we be honest about what is truly going on clinically? How can we have the clinical conversations that are necessary for us to be as effective as we can be?
By using structured and nonstructured interventions, I work with you to understand your clinical needs and goals and to find the solutions, resources and options that best fit your reasons for attending supervision. I then seek to collaborate with you on a plan that brings these elements together in a way that most benefits you and ultimately your clinical work.
I consider supervision agreements “living documents” that evolve as your experiences and needs change. I draw my approaches from Hawkin’s and Shohet’s 7-Eyed Process Model of supervision and Stotenberg’s Integrated Developmental Model.
I have specific trainings in Psychodynamic therapies, ACT, CBT, IFS and EFT. I also specialize in Trauma, Addictions, Relationships, and Personality disorders. I look forward to working with you.
