- Registered Psychotherapist, CRPO #14273
David is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). He holds a Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and completed a specialized honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
David approaches therapy from an eclectic approach, drawing from several theoretical orientations and approaches to best fit the needs of each client. David uses a trauma-informed lens to best support the needs of a wide variety of individuals. David recognizes the importance of a past and present approach, exploring the past and how it affects the present, and the importance of adaptations made by them throughout development. David believes that each client is the expert in their own lives, thus taking the role of a passenger and GPS, guiding when necessary, listening and being present always.
David’s practice is foundational, based in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), which uses emotions as guides to understand our needs and values, helping to provide insight into one’s life. He is also practiced in strategies such as narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as internal family systems. These approaches are used to help support each client where they are with whatever struggle they are facing.
David works with Teenagers and Adults facing a variety of struggles, such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem issues, and trauma, childhood trauma being a particular specialty. David has a lot of experience working with those who are neurodivergent, such as those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.
David’s goal is to validate and listen while working to support change at the client’s pace, meeting goals and working towards healing.
