Child & Youth Psychotherapy and Counselling

A Gentle Therapy Approach Rooted in Growth For Children & Youth
Watching your child or teen struggle is one of the hardest things a parent can experience. Our therapists create a safe, supportive space where children and teens can make sense of what they're feeling while building the skills they need to cope and thrive. Using age-appropriate, evidence-based approaches, we help young people work through anxiety, behavioural and emotional challenges, trauma, grief, ADHD, social difficulties, family changes, and more.
Our Child and Youth therapists have specialized training and experience working with children ages 4 and up. When it makes sense, we also work alongside parents and families, recognizing that supportive relationships can play an important role in a child or teen's wellbeing and growth.
Areas We Support
Supporting Children & Youth, Our Areas of Focus & Approaches
Our child and youth therapists support the full range of what young people bring to therapy, while also supporting the families around them when it makes sense. Below are some of the areas we help with most often, but you don't have to fit neatly into one of these categories to benefit from therapy at Therapy Heals. Whatever your child or teen is facing, we are here to help.
Child and Teen Therapy in Ontario
Children and teens don't always have the words for what they are feeling, and that is okay. Our therapists use age-appropriate, evidence-based approaches to help them work through their challenges, in a warm, child-friendly or teen-friendly environment where they feel safe to express themselves.
Common issues we help with include:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Trauma
- Behavioural and Emotional Challenges
- ADHD
- Grief & Loss
- Friendship & Social Difficulties
- School Stress
- Family Transitions
- Identity & Self-Esteem
Play Therapy
For younger children, play is how they process the world. Play therapy gives children a developmentally natural way to express what they cannot yet put into words, guided by a trained play therapist. Play therapy is available in person and online across Ontario.
Family Therapy & Support
Families go through challenges, transitions and periods of stress. We offer family therapy and support for families navigating conflict, communication challenges, blended family dynamics, grief, life transitions, and more. Our therapists work with families to strengthen relationships, improve understanding, and create healthier patterns of connection.
